This Acceptable Use Policy (“AUP”) applies to everything created with or served through the QR Hero service - QR codes, short links, landing and pre-landing pages, vCards, menus, link pages, and any other content - and forms part of the QR Hero Terms of Service. QRHero.com and the QR Hero service are provided by Etcetera Digital LLC, 30 N Gould St., Suite 2413, Sheridan, WY 82801, USA.
The point of this policy is simple: people who scan a QR code need to be able to trust where it takes them. Abuse of that trust harms scanners, our customers, and the Service itself, and we act on it.
You may not use the Service to create, host, link to, or distribute:
Some uses require heightened care. If your codes relate to regulated goods or services (for example alcohol, gambling, financial products, or health products), you are responsible for complying with the laws of every market where you distribute them, including age-verification and disclosure requirements. We may require evidence of compliance or restrict such use.
If you enable analytics, tracking pixels, or data collection features on your codes and pages, you must comply with applicable privacy law: provide the required notices, obtain consent where required (the Service’s consent tools help, but the legal responsibility for your configuration is yours), and only collect data you are entitled to collect. See the Data Processing Agreement.
You may not probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service, bypass authentication or rate limits, scrape the Service at scale outside the documented API, resell access without our agreement, or interfere with other customers’ use of the Service.
We may scan destination URLs with automated malware and phishing detection, and we review reports of abuse. Depending on severity, we may warn you, disable individual codes or links, suspend features, or suspend or terminate your account - without prior notice where necessary to protect scanners, other customers, or the Service. We may preserve and share information with law enforcement where legally required.
Codes disabled for abuse stop resolving immediately. Fees are not refunded for accounts terminated for material breach of this policy, except where the law requires otherwise.
If you believe a QR Hero code, link, or page is being used in violation of this policy, report it to support@qrhero.com with the code URL or short link and a description of the issue. We investigate every report.
