A QR Hero location code is device-aware — it opens Apple Maps, Google Maps, or a web fallback automatically, so directions always open in the right app.

Why a device-aware map link beats a generic one

A plain address link usually guesses wrong. It might open a slow web map, drop an iPhone user into a Google Maps prompt with no app installed, or route an Android visitor somewhere that never quite loads directions properly. The result is a visitor standing outside - or worse, in the wrong place - fumbling with an app instead of walking in the door.

QR Hero's location codes detect the scanning device and route accordingly: an iPhone opens Apple Maps, an Android phone opens Google Maps, and anything else falls back to a clean web map, all from a single address you set once. Add a place name, coordinates, hours, and contact details, and the same code can carry an optional landing page with a prominent directions button alongside the map deep link.

For businesses with more than one location, each address gets its own code from the same account, so a printed window sticker always points to the right storefront. Per-location scan analytics show which entrance or branch actually gets found most, and if the business moves, updating the address in the dashboard means the same printed code routes correctly on the very next scan - no new sticker required.

Location codes are frequently placed next to a WiFi codes code at the door and a Menus & microsites page inside, and multi-location brands use Smart routing so one printed code sends each scanner to their nearest address.
