QRHero.com and the QR Hero service are provided by Etcetera Digital LLC, 30 N Gould St., Suite 2413, Sheridan, WY 82801, USA. This policy explains how cookies and similar technologies (local storage, pixels, and fingerprinting signals) are used on qrhero.com, in the QR Hero dashboard, and on the pages end users see when they scan a QR code or open a short link created with QR Hero.
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser. Similar technologies include local storage, tracking pixels (tiny images or scripts that register a visit), and fingerprinting signals (characteristics of your browser used to estimate unique visitors). We use the word “cookies” for all of these below.
Essential. Required for the site and dashboard to work: login sessions, security tokens (CSRF protection), load balancing, bot protection (Cloudflare Turnstile), and remembering your cookie choices. Always on; these cannot be disabled.
Preferences. Remember settings such as your language, your selected currency, and dismissed messages. These make the site work the way you left it.
Analytics. Help us understand aggregate usage of qrhero.com and the dashboard so we can improve the product. On scan destinations, analytics cookies and fingerprinting signals are used only where the customer has enabled scan analytics and, where consent is legally required, only after you consent.
Marketing. Tracking pixels (for example Meta, Google, TikTok, LinkedIn, Snapchat, or custom pixels) that customers may add to their own landing and pre-landing pages. These load only where the customer has enabled them and, for visitors in the EU/EEA, UK, and similar consent regimes, only after you consent. Each provider processes data under its own privacy policy.
| Cookie | Category | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Session cookie | Essential | Keeps you logged in to the dashboard | Session / up to 2 hours idle |
| CSRF token | Essential | Protects forms against cross-site request forgery | Session |
Cloudflare cookies (cf_*) | Essential | Traffic security and bot mitigation | Up to 1 year |
Currency choice (qh_currency) | Preferences | Remembers the currency you selected | 1 year |
| Language choice | Preferences | Remembers your language | 1 year |
| Consent state | Essential | Remembers your cookie choices | 6–12 months |
Third parties we use for essential functions - Cloudflare (security and content delivery) and Stripe (payments, on checkout pages) - may set their own cookies necessary for those functions.
When you scan a customer’s QR code, the customer controls which categories are active on the destination and pre-landing pages. Where required by law, a consent banner is shown before any non-essential cookie, pixel, or fingerprinting signal is set, matching the customer’s configuration. The customer is the data controller for this data; see section 4 of our Privacy Policy.
On qrhero.com, you can change your cookie preferences at any time via the cookie settings link in the footer. On a scan destination, use the consent banner (or the settings link on that page) to change your choices for that customer’s pages.
Most browsers also let you block or delete cookies through their settings. Blocking essential cookies may break login and checkout.
We may update this policy as our cookie use evolves; the “Last updated” date above reflects the latest version.
